Masquerader
'Nothing Will Change' - EP review
Reading’s favourite noisy boi’s & DIY kings Masquerader have just released their debut EP ‘Nothing Will Change’!
Bursting with energy, the math-punk trio are hitting hard with this beast of an EP which also features remixes from Caleb Paice, Chameleon & Silent Weapon.
Ever true to their passion for DIY, the EP is self produced & really captures the spirit of the band & their super charged live performances.
The addictive ear worm of a single ‘Pressure’ sits in good company with ‘I.Am.Masquerader’, being the first track written by the band therefore it seems fitting that it's the EP opener, & ‘Paper Thin’ which explores a more atmospheric slow build approach.
BBC Introducing’s track of the week ‘Mellify’ is an absolute highlight. Clever changes in both vocal & musical style, it flips between post metal & hip hop with unexpected breaks, whilst a darkly ominous synth looms deliciously in the background.
An explosive EP that deserves to be played loud!
'Nothing Will Change' is out now and you can catch Masquerader live on 22nd July at Facebar Reading ( check out their social pages for live dates in London & Brighton ).
